Welcome, Parents!

We hope that you and your children are enjoying KidsPsych! This site was put together as a vehicle for you to spend quality time with your children, and to help them with cognitive thinking skills, deductive reasoning, and also just to have some fun! It is our hope that as you and your children play these games, you will talk about the skills used in each activity. Each game has information about its objectives, and this may help you to understand more about your child's development and cognitive thinking skills.

Sometimes it's difficult to talk about certain situations...

Sometimes, though, it's difficult to talk with your children about certain situations—such as the death of a loved one, physical disabilities, depression, and self-esteem. Eleven years ago, Magination Press was created out of a desire to publish innovative books that would help children deal with the many problems they face as they grow up. Written for ages 4 through 18, these books deal with topics ranging from the everyday—nightmares, bedwetting, attention deficit disorder, asthma—to the more serious problems, such as divorce, death, serious injury or illness, autism, phobias, and much more.

Written by mental health professionals

All of our books are written by mental health professionals or those who work closely with them and with children. Each comes with an introductory section to help guide parents, therapists, social workers, and teachers in using the book. Magination books are not preachy or didactic: They feature sensitive, lively, sometimes humorous writing, along with exquisite, evocative illustrations. In fact, you might recognize some of the characters from KidsPsych in the Magination Press books. Take a look at the Magination Press site—some of the books you can start reading together online!
